The Magna Grecia International Award, is presented to people who, through their professional activity, have distinguished themselves in the promotion of Italy in the world. The historic award presented by the Magna Grecia Foundation is designed to best represent the values and history of which it is both custodian and promoter. The art of Master Goldsmith Gerardo Sacco takes sublime form in the silver effigy of the Doric column of the temple of Hera Lacinia, current symbol of the city of Crotone, the only one still standing of the original 48 that formed the 5^th century BC Greek temple, survivor of the physical and political earthquakes that took place one after the other over the centuries.
